Serving Size: 6-8 squares
Ingredients:
1 pound ground sausage
6 slices of French bread, cut into 1″ cubes
3/4 cup diced red and green peppers
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese
6 large eggs
1 1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 dry mustard
1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9″x13″ baking dish
- Crumble and cook sausage until brown
- Drain any remaining grease
- In the baking dish, spread the bread cubes. Layer on the sausage, diced peppers, and cheese.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and mustard until well blended.
- Pour the egg mixture over the bread layers in the greased dish.
- Bake 30-35 minutes on 350°F or until the egg is set.
- Let stand 5 minutes before cutting.
Notes: You can switch out the ground sausage for your protein of choice.
